CAL IT GUY LLC

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service explain the general terms that apply when using this website, contacting CAL IT GUY LLC, requesting estimates, or receiving IT services.

Effective Date

These Terms of Service are effective as of June 15, 2026.

These terms are intended for general website and small-business IT service use. They are not a substitute for a custom attorney-drafted service agreement. Certain projects may require a separate written quote, statement of work, or signed agreement.

This website is operated by CAL IT GUY LLC, a California-based IT services company providing local IT support, onsite technology services, network and WiFi troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 and email support, printer and scanner support, cybersecurity basics, backup support, website and technology setup, MSP field support, and related services.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website, submitting a contact form, requesting an estimate, scheduling service, communicating with CAL IT GUY LLC, or receiving services, you agree to these Terms of Service unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

If you do not agree with these terms, do not use this website or request services from CAL IT GUY LLC.

3. Services Provided

CAL IT GUY LLC may provide services including, but not limited to:

  • Business IT support
  • Onsite IT support
  • Emergency IT support when available
  • Network and WiFi troubleshooting
  • Microsoft 365, Outlook, Gmail, and email support
  • Printer, scanner, and office device support
  • Backup and recovery support
  • Cybersecurity basics and compliance readiness support
  • Website, domain, DNS, and technology setup
  • MSP, vendor, and field support services
  • General troubleshooting, consulting, and project-based technology support

Specific services, scope, timing, pricing, deliverables, and limitations may be discussed separately by phone, email, text, estimate, invoice, statement of work, or written agreement.

4. Estimates, Quotes, and Scope of Work

Estimates are based on the information available at the time they are provided. Technology issues can change once systems are inspected, and additional problems may be discovered during troubleshooting.

Unless clearly stated in writing, estimates are not guaranteed fixed prices. Larger projects may require a written quote, deposit, staged payment, or approval before work begins.

Any work outside the original scope may require additional approval and may result in additional charges.

5. Scheduling and Availability

CAL IT GUY LLC offers services by appointment, availability, location, and project requirements. Same-day, emergency, or urgent support may be available, but is not guaranteed.

Appointments may be rescheduled due to traffic, access issues, emergencies, parts availability, vendor delays, client delays, safety concerns, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate information, reasonable access, and cooperation needed to perform services.

  • Provide accurate contact information and service location details
  • Provide access to computers, networks, devices, accounts, rooms, equipment, and users as needed
  • Ensure someone authorized is available to approve work and decisions
  • Provide vendor information, account ownership details, licensing information, or documentation when needed
  • Maintain proper backups of important files and systems
  • Disclose known issues, damage, security concerns, or prior troubleshooting attempts
  • Obtain permission from property owners, employers, landlords, or third parties when needed

CAL IT GUY LLC is not responsible for delays, incomplete work, or additional costs caused by inaccurate information, lack of access, missing credentials, vendor delays, expired licenses, unsupported systems, or unavailable decision-makers.

7. Passwords, Credentials, and Access

Clients may need to provide access to accounts, devices, networks, or systems for troubleshooting and service work. Clients should only provide access they are legally authorized to provide.

Clients remain responsible for account ownership, passwords, MFA devices, licensing, subscriptions, administrator access, vendor accounts, and recovery methods.

Clients should avoid sending sensitive passwords or confidential credentials through unsecured methods. When possible, temporary passwords, secure sharing methods, or client-entered credentials should be used.

8. Data, Backups, and File Recovery

Clients are responsible for maintaining backups of important data before any service, repair, migration, troubleshooting, software change, hardware replacement, or system work.

CAL IT GUY LLC may assist with backup checks, file transfer, backup setup, or recovery guidance, but does not guarantee that data can be recovered, restored, preserved, or protected from loss.

Data loss can occur due to device failure, software problems, malware, user error, corruption, cloud sync issues, vendor problems, or other technical causes. Specialized data recovery may require a third-party recovery provider.

9. No Guaranteed Outcome

CAL IT GUY LLC will make reasonable efforts to troubleshoot, repair, improve, configure, or support technology systems. However, no specific result is guaranteed unless expressly stated in a written agreement.

Some issues may not be repairable, may require replacement parts, vendor intervention, manufacturer support, software updates, licenses, subscriptions, cabling work, third-party service, or additional project time.

10. Third-Party Vendors, Software, and Services

Many technology issues involve third-party products or providers, including internet service providers, Microsoft, Google, Apple, printer vendors, software companies, cloud providers, domain registrars, hosting companies, security vendors, MSPs, and hardware manufacturers.

CAL IT GUY LLC may help coordinate with third-party vendors, but is not responsible for their pricing, availability, response times, outages, product limitations, licensing rules, account decisions, support quality, service changes, or failures.

11. Cybersecurity and Compliance Readiness

Cybersecurity and compliance-related services may include practical support such as MFA setup, password cleanup, access review, backup readiness checks, documentation support, device security basics, and vendor coordination.

CAL IT GUY LLC does not guarantee that any client will be fully secure, breach-proof, compliant with any law or regulation, or protected from all cyber threats. Compliance obligations may require legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, or specialized cybersecurity guidance.

Clients remain responsible for determining and meeting their own legal, regulatory, insurance, industry, contractual, and business compliance obligations.

12. Website and Technology Setup

Website, domain, DNS, email, and technology setup services are provided based on the platforms, tools, accounts, access, subscriptions, and client-provided content available at the time of service.

CAL IT GUY LLC is not responsible for third-party platform outages, rejected domain changes, DNS propagation delays, email provider restrictions, account ownership disputes, plugin limitations, design changes made by clients or third parties, or platform policy changes.

13. Payment Terms

Payment terms may be stated in an estimate, invoice, quote, written agreement, or direct communication. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due upon completion of the service visit, project milestone, or invoice delivery.

CAL IT GUY LLC may require deposits, partial payments, payment before ordering parts, or payment before continuing work for larger projects, new clients, emergency requests, or projects requiring third-party purchases.

Late payments may delay service, project continuation, future scheduling, or delivery of additional work.

14. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

Clients should provide reasonable notice if an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. Missed appointments, late cancellations, denied access, or unavailable decision-makers may result in a service fee, travel fee, or rescheduling delay.

15. Parts, Hardware, and Software Purchases

Hardware, software, licenses, subscriptions, replacement parts, cables, devices, or third-party services may require separate purchase approval and may not be included in labor pricing unless clearly stated.

Warranties for third-party products are provided by the manufacturer, vendor, retailer, or software provider, not by CAL IT GUY LLC unless separately stated in writing.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CAL IT GUY LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, business interruption, lost data, loss of goodwill, security incidents, third-party failures, or loss of use.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, any liability of CAL IT GUY LLC related to a service, project, website use, or claim is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

17. No Legal, Accounting, Insurance, or Regulatory Advice

CAL IT GUY LLC provides technology services and practical IT support. We do not provide legal, accounting, tax, insurance, regulatory, or official compliance advice.

Clients should consult appropriate licensed professionals for legal, accounting, tax, insurance, regulatory, or compliance decisions.

18. Website Content

Website content is provided for general informational purposes only. It may describe services, industries served, service areas, and general technology topics. Website content does not guarantee availability, pricing, timelines, results, or suitability for a specific client situation.

19. Intellectual Property

22. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
